  8. IMPORTANT:  See the installation notes below before installing MultiPlay.

  11. Welcome to MultiPlay '97.
  12.  
  13.     MultiPlay is capable of playing any file for which you have a
  14. Windows MCI driver installed.  Even the most basic Windows 95 or NT system
  15. will normally include MCI drivers for .AVI, .MID, and .WAV files.  In 
  16. addition, systems with ActiveMovie for Windows installed usually have MCI
  17. drivers for the MPEG format.  MultiPlay will work with most MCI drivers.
  18.  
  19. To see which MCI drivers you have installed:
  20.  
  21.     1. Click 'Start', 'Settings', 'Control Panel'.
  22.     2. Double-click the Multimedia icon.
  23.     3. Click the 'Advanced' tab.
  24.     4. Click the '+' next to Media Control Devices.
  25.  
  26. This list shows all of the MCI devices you have installed.  (Keep in mind
  27. that not all of these devices can necessarily be opened by MultiPlay.)

  30. INSTALLATION
  31. ------------
  32. NOTE: If you have a previous version of MultiPlay installed, YOU MUST
  33.       REMOVE IT before installing MultiPlay '97 2.0!  Use the Add/Remove
  34.       Programs icon in Control Panel to remove MultiPlay.  It may say that
  35.       it was unable to remove all components, however this is normal.
  36.       Once the older version of MultiPlay is removed, continue as shown
  37.       below.

  39. To install MultiPlay, simply run SETUP.EXE.  The necessary files will be
  40. installed and an icon will be created on your Start Menu.

  43. USING MULTIPLAY
  44. ---------------
  45. MultiPlay's interface is fairly straightforward.  So straightforward,
  46. in fact, that you'll probably learn to use it faster than reading any
  47. instructions I give you!

  52. For now, MultiPlay is being distributed as freeware.

  63.       - The initial release had some problems installing on some systems;
  64.         these have been resolved (hopefully).

  66. 2.0.0 - Lots of stuff!
  67.       - More efficient code, smaller .EXE size all around.
  68.       - Playlists can now be saved and opened for later use.
  69.       - There is now a configurable delay between files in the
  70.         playlist, useful when using MultiPlay to playback files
  71.         onto tape, where a small pause is needed between files.
  72.       - Random Play mode has been implemented, which will
  73.         play files from the playlist in no particular order.
  74.       - Up/Down arrows have been added to the Playlist mode.
  75.         This allows you to move individual files up or down
  76.         within the Playlist.
  77.       - A Delete option has been added, which, when in Non-
  78.         Playlist mode allows you to delete those files you just
  79.         can't STAND to listen to.
  80.       - You can now double-click the file list to individually
  81.         add files to the Playlist without having to use the ">"
  82.         button.
  83.       - Finally, the current file's length is now reported by
  84.         MultiPlay in minutes:seconds format, along with the size.
